that a Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of

City Council will take a break to
recognize the 2007 Volunteers who served the citizens of Lucas by serving on
the Board of Adjustments, Planning & Zoning Commission, Parks and Open
Space Board, and Advisory Committee.
Citizen Input
The Mayor and City Council invites citizens to speak on any City
business item. In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, comments of public
interest will be heard, but no action may be taken by the City Council other
than to refer the item to a future agenda. Please complete and submit to the
City Secretary a “Request to Speak” sheet prior to the meeting.

3) Discuss and Consider
the approval of a resolution deeming the Lovejoy 5K
Walk/Run as a public event serving a
public purpose by supporting the school
district’s extracurricular activities; approving
the terms and conditions of an
agreement by and between the State of
Department of Transportation,
and the City of
state right-of-way, which is attached hereto
and incorporated herein; authorizing
the Mayor to execute said agreement; and
providing an effective date.
4) Discuss and Consider
the approval of an ordinance of the City of
5) Discuss and Consider the approval of
an ordinance amending Chapter 5, Article 5.03, Section 5.03.002 by adding
provision that amend Section 903.2 of the International Fire Code, 2003
Edition, to require automatic sprinklers to be installed throughout all levels
of new construction for Group A, B, E, F, H, I, M, R, S, and U occupancies of
more than zero (0) square feet as provided in the International Fire Code, 2003
Edition providing exceptions; providing the severability clause; providing the
repealing clause; providing a savings clause; providing a penalty for violation
of this ordinance not to exceed the sum of two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars for
each offense; and providing for an effective date.
6) Discuss and Consider appointments to
the Advisory Committee. [Zriny]
7) Discuss and Consider appointment to
the Planning & Zoning Commission.[Millsap]
8) Discuss and Consider
a proposed wrecker/towing service ordinance.
9) Discuss and Consider
a proposed change to the Code of Ordinance, Chapter 14 Zoning, Division 3,
Performance Standards, Section 14.04.072 Noise.
10) Discuss and Consider
setting the date for discontinuation of City services in the ETJ.
11) Discuss and Consider fees to be paid
or waived upon property being annexed into the City at the request of the
property owner.
12) Discuss and Consider
a date for the 2008 Holiday Party for Staff & City Council and direct the
City Secretary to reserve the date and location.
Executive Session
The City Council may convene in Executive Session in accordance
with the Texas Government Code. All decisions regarding the discussion of the
Executive Session must be made in Open Session.
13) City Council pursuant to §551.071 of
the Texas Local Government Code may
convene into Executive Session regarding the
litigation between John Spencer,
Matt A. Freeman, Mary J. Freeman ET AL
and the City of
Utility District.

14) Take any action as necessary from the
Executive Session.
15) Adjournment.
As authorized by Section
551.071 (2) of the
convene into closed Executive
Session for the purpose of seeking confidential legal advice from the City
Attorney regarding any item on the agenda at any time during the meeting.
