Summary

Based on Lucas’ 2000 population, the City needs an additional 9.5 acres of

community parks, 3.8 acres of neighborhood parks, 5.8 acres of special parks, 17.3 acres of regional or major parks, and 6.2 acres of open space or linear parks for a total of an additional 42.8 acres.

By 2010, the City will need an additional 32.5 acres of community parks, 13 acres of neighborhood parks, 15 acres of special parks, 45 acres of regional/major parks, 20 acres of open space/linear parks for a total of an additional 125.7 acres.

Our citizens should choose to customize the parks with facilities that they prefer. Citizen input should be an important part of planning for each park as it is developed. Exactly what facilities are created will contribute to the uniqueness of Lucas.
